Panaitolikos Gymnastikos Filekpaideftikos Syllogos was founded on the 9th of March 1926 in Agrinio. Panaitolikos participated in the first Division for four seasons (1976, 1977, 2012, 2014) and is considered as one of the most historic clubs of Greece. Some of the most well known players that started their career in the club are Stratos Apostolakis, former Greek recordman in international caps (96), and Petros Michos. The club’s symbol is Titormus, the ancient Aetolian hero and their motto is \u03a4\u03af\u03c4\u03bf\u03c1\u03bc\u03bf\u03c2 \u0391\u03b9\u03c4\u03c9\u03bb\u03cc\u03c2 \u039f\u03cd\u03c4\u03bf\u03c2 \u0386\u03bb\u03bb\u03bf\u03c2 \u0397\u03c1\u03b1\u03ba\u03bb\u03ae\u03c2, translated as Titormus the Aetolian is another Heracles. The unconditional giving to society and assistance to the ones in need has always been a fundamental goal for Panaitolikos since its establishment. The President, Mr. Kostoulas is extremely sensitive towards social problems and urges to assist whenever a matter occurs, in order to comfort his fellow citizens. A fact, that is widely acknowledged not only in Agrinio but in the rest of Greece as well.
