Panathinaikos Sports Club was founded in 1908 in Athens and has 14 different sports teams. Panathinaikos is 107 years old and is the pride and joy of the city of Athens and all Greece. Many generations of Greeks are born and nurtured with great love for the team of Panathinaikos. Panathinaikos BC was founded in 1920 and in 1946 they won the first Greek Cup. Since then Panathinaikos counts 57 titles in total: 6 European Championships, 34 Greek Championships, 16 Greek Cups and one Intercontinental Cup. In 1987 Pavlos Giannakopoulos has taken the presidency of the club and a new era began. Since taking, Panathinaikos won 15 of the 34 Greek championships, 11 of the 16 Greek Cups 6 European Championships and the Intercontinental Cup. The myth was built under the command of this inspired and dedicated president, who had a bright vision and turned it into reality. His son, Dimitris Giannakopoulos took over in June 2012. The succession proved inspired, as he faced great difficulties with extreme success. The growing empire attract fans to the stadium and Panathinaikos became the ruler of the Greek Basketball.
