\u201cAMIMONI\u201d Is the Panhellenic Association of Parents and Friends of the Visually Impaired People with Additional Special Needs (i.e. autism, learning disabilities, motor and sensory impairments confounded to blindness). It is a private, non profit organization founded in Athens in 1993, necessitated by parents whose children can\u2019t fight for their rights by themselves. Amimoni\u2019s main achievements are: \u201cEARLY INTERVENTION\u201d The creation of a program for toddlers and children up to 7 years old. Our program, takes place at every child\u2019s home in strong cooperation with family members. \u201cIRIDA\u201d The creation of a Day Center for children and adults with vision problems and additional disabilities, which works on a weekly basis and it refers to 40 trainees, in Athens. It is the unique Center of its kind in the whole country. \u201cPOLICHNI\u201d The creation of a training program for independent living skills. It refers to students from the age of 15 and up. It works every week from Friday evening to Monday time, five students participate with five morning and each trainers. ”\u00a0Supported Living Recedence “Lilian Voudouri” (S.L.R)” Supported Living Residence “Lilian Voudouri” has been operating since 2012 in Pikermi, Attica. It is\u00a0the first house in Greece specially structured to accommodate for life, visually impaired people with additional handicaps.\u00a0It has a capacity of 7 residents men and women 18+. It is a house made with respect on the needs of those who live in it. The house is shaped in a way that its residents can have wellbeing despite of the deprivation due to their handicaps. During the time the residents are indoors, their time is full of educational and recreational activities\u00a0such as: music therapy, occupational therapy, gymnastic, psychological support as well as training to accomplish an independently life.\u00a0During the weekends they are offered indoor and outdoor activities such as: educational cuisine, crafts, relaxation activities (foot bath, massage), celebrations (birthday parties, musical nights, barbeques and more), gardening, and excursions.”<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
