Vassilis Torosidis was born on the 10th of June 1985 in Petinos of Xanthi. He is married and has a little daughter named Kallia. He began his career in Skoda Xanthi in 2002 and played there until 2007. In January of the same year, he gets transferred to Olympiacos, where he launched a great course. In the championship, he counts 134 participations and 12 goals, in the cup, 21 participations and 3 goals and finally, in the European competitions, 34 participations and 4 goals. His mentality combined with his exuisite football skills have raised him in the first position of popularity as far as th fans of Olympiacos are concerned. In 2013 though, he moves to Italy and becomes a member of Roma’s roster. The first year in Roma, he was lucky enough to participate in the finals of Coppa Italia, having scored earlier in the semi-final against Inter. As a member of the National team he participated in 2008 Euro, 2010 Mundial of South Africa and the 2012 Euro held in Poland and Ukraine. It is worth mentioning that Vassils was the one to score the winning goal in the match of Greece against Nigeria in the Mundial of 2010, offering this way the first ever win to his home country in the final stage of a World Cup.
