Marios Nikolaou was born on October the 4th, 1983 in Cyprus and he is a Cypriot footballer who plays for AEL. He is a midfielder, mostly defensive, has a height of 1.76, and a weight of 74 kilos. He began playing football on Aris Limassol in 1998. He played for four seasons in which the team went up and down in the first and second divisions. In 2002 he was transfered to Omonia Nicosia, where he did not manage to establish himself. Meanwhile he was called and played for the u19 team of Cyprus. In 2004 he was transfered back to Aris, where he became a key player and played for three seasons, helping Aris to return to the first division. In 2007 he went to Greece to play for Panionios and debuted in the A National Championship on September 2, 2007. He helped enough in the team’s effort to win the fifth place, qualify for the 2007-08 play-offs and win a ticket for the Intertoto Cup. The 2008-09 season he continues to have regular place in the team. His contract expires on June 30, 2010. On June 22, 2010 he is announced by AE Limassol, where he stayed until 2015. During the 2015-2016 season he competed again in Greece for Levadiakos. The next year, following a short pass from Finland and Inter Turku, he returned to AEL where he is still playing up to now.
