Vangelis Platellas was born on the 1st of December 1988 and plays for AEK Athens in the Greek Superleague, as a winger. Vangelis Platellas began his professional career, playing for Football League side Kallithea, and was then transferred on the 2nd of January 2012 to Super league side Skoda Xanthi. In the summer of 2013, Platellas signed for Greek AEK Athens Club, where he still plays and excels up to now. In the 2013\/14 season, Platellas made 25 appearances scoring 15 goals. His appearances made him favorite among his side fans and also among football fans in Greece. Platellas received his first international call for Greece National football side in September 2015 for the games against Finland and Romania. Vangelis Platellas has won the Best Young Player of Football League 2 Award in Greek football PSAP awards, for the season 2009-10.
