Leonidas Kampantais was born on 8 March 1982 in Athens. He is an attacker, with a height of 1.83 and started his career in Haidari, at the 1999-2000 season when they played at the fourth division. His skills attracted the interest of Aris Thessaloniki and in the following period he was transferred to the Thessaloniki team. In the first two seasons he only played in Cup matches. But the next two (2002 to 2004) had more entries and had the opportunity to show his football qualities. His good appearances in the championship resulted in being invited to the National Team that participated in the 2004 Olympics. The 2004-2005 season he was transferred to AEK, where he played 18 championship, cup and European championship games. However, his coach has indicated that he should leave for a year loan to gain the appropriate experience. Thus, the first half of the 2005-06 season he was loaned in Cyprus, at Anorthosis Famagusta and from January 2006 to Panionios. In the following season 2006-07 he returned to AEK and had a very good year with 22 league entries and 9 goals while in two games he was the most valuable player (MVP). At the end of the season, various teams were interested in him. He eventually preferred the transfer to German Arminia Bielefeld where he played in eight games with a goal. The 2009-2010 season he returned to Greece on behalf of Olympiakos Volos, that at that time was playing in the second category of the Greek Championship, and succeeds in raising the team in the Super League. In January 2011 he gets a transfer for the team of Heraklion Crete, OFI.
