Michalis Pelekanos was born on the 25th of 1981 and he is a Greek professional basketball player, who plays for Panionios. He is 198 cm (6’6″) tall and he plays as a guard. Born in Koridalos, Piraeus, Athens, Greece, Pelekanos began his pro career in Greece with Peristeri in the Greek League. He later joined the Greek club AEK Athens, followed by the Greek club Panellinios. After a career year at Panellinios, where he made the home crowd fans chant his name during games due to his exciting defensive plays and highlight reel dunks, Pelekanos moved to the Euroleague giants Real Madrid of the Spanish ACB League. In 2008, he signed a 3-year contract with Olympiacos Piraeus. In August 2009, he was loaned by Olympiacos to Maroussi. He won both the Euroleague and Greek League championships, with Olympiacos in 2012. He then signed with the Greek club Aris, for the 2012\u201313 season. In July 2014, he moved to the Romanian League club CSU Asesoft Ploiesti on a one-year deal. With Ploiesti, he won the Romanian championship. In July 2015, he returned to Aris and the next year 2016\/17 he moved to Panionios, where he plays up to now. Pelekanos was a member of the senior men’s Greek national basketball team that competed at the EuroBasket 2007 and won the fourth place.
