Stavros Tziortziopoulos was born on August the 15th, 1978. He began his football career at Pagkorinthiakos and in the summer of 1997 he was transfered to Keratsini. There he played the 1997-1998 season in the Third Division. He played in 20 games and scored 3 goals, while playing as a left defender. His good performances brought the call of the National U21 and he was transfered to Olympiacos after a battle with Panathinaikos. In January 1999 he was loaned to Hercules Thessaloniki, where he played for a year in 27 league and cup games. In January 2000 he returned to Olympiakos, where he stayed for 2 and a half seasons, winning three championships in Greece. Then he played for Akratitos (2002-03) and then Panionios (2003-04), which was a very successful season as Panionios played in the UEFA Cup. His mature game and good performances earned him a transfer to AEK Athens, where he played for the next three seasons. Although he had a serious injury that left him almost a year out of the courts, he managed to return to a high level. In the summer of 2007 he had a brief passing from Cypriot Omonia Nicosia until January 2008. In January 2008 he moved to Xanthi he stayed in the team for 2.5 years and was released in May 2010. In September of the same year he signed an one year contract with Panthrakikos.
