Kostas Fortounis was born on the 16th of October 1992 at Trikala, and he is a midfielder, playing for the Greek National side and for Olympiakos Piraeus in the Greek Super League and in the Champions League competition. He began his football career playing for his local team Trikala F.C. and in the Greek Super League he has played for Asteras Tripolis FC and for Olympiakos Piraeus FC, whereas he has won the Greek Super League trophy of the season 2014-2015 and the Greek Cup in the same season. He has also played for FC Kaiserslautern in the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2. With regards to the Greek National Team he participated in the European Championship of 2012 and the qualifiers for Euro 2016. His appearances this year (2015-2016) both in the Greek Super League and most importantly in the Champions League (against Bayern Munich and against Arsenal FC whereas he has scored a magnificent goal from a direct corner kick), as well as with the Greek National side during qualifiers for Euro 2016, attracted the interest of major European football clubs and most importantly made all the Greek football fans discussing his paying abilities, making Kostas one of the most talked about Greek football players at the moment.
