\u039cake-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions, in order to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.\u00a0Make-A-Wish Greece started in 1996 and since our inception has granted over 1000 wishes. Our belief is that no child should live their life without believing that their wish can come true. We strive to provide our wish children and families with some special memories of joy and laughter. This gives them a much needed respite from hospitals doctors and treatment programs. Make-A-Wish (\u039a\u03ac\u03bd\u03b5-\u039c\u03b9\u03b1-\u0395\u03c5\u03c7\u03ae \u0395\u03bb\u03bb\u03b1\u03b4\u03bf\u03c2) is an affiliate of Make-A-Wish\u00ae International. Make-A-Wish\u00ae International was born in February of 1993 to serve the five countries granting wishes outside the U.S. and now helps to serve children outside the United States in nearly 50 countries through its 37 affiliates. Our Core Values Integrity Focus on children Community Wish Impact Study The study results provide measures of the extent to which parents and volunteers both perceive that wish children experience positive attitudinal changes, which can potentially lead to better health outcomes. Among these changes are an increased willingness to work toward getting better and compliance with treatment protocols. Improvements in wish children’s strength, mobility, energy level and overall condition can also result from wish experiences, as affirmed bylarge majorities of parents. \u2022 89 % of parents observed increases in wish kids’ emotional strength, which can help them improve their health status. \u2022 81 % of parents observed an increased willingness by their wish kids to comply with treatment protocols. \u2022 74 % saw the wish experience as a positive turning point in the wish kids’ battle against their illnesses. \u2022 97 % of parents said the wish experience strengthened their families and gave them the opportunity to be a “normal” family again. \u2022 91 % of volunteers 94 percent of wish parents expressed a deeper commitment to philanthropy and volunteering<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
